Select an application by clicking Open with. If you are having trouble opening your ASCII file, try right-clicking or long-pressing it to try again. After that, you can select the folder in which the ASCII file was saved and then open it. Open Excel by selecting Open from the File menu. In the last year and a half, I’ve only had this happen twice: once by manually entering the order and again by deleting the order. The import returns the same error as when inserting a space because the data returns to alignment but with an insert.

The data on line 31 is out of alignment by one space after the Line Item Description. The 1st Byte must be H, N, L, T, O, or I. This will cause all of the ASCII characters to be displayed in the file.

Then, the user needs to click on the “Show All Characters” option in the “View” tab. Next, the user needs to click on the “View” tab at the top of the Notepad window. In order to see ASCII characters in a file Notepad, the user first needs to open the file in Notepad.
